Education for every child

Every Child Learning is a pioneering program that aims to find new scalable solutions to the learning crisis and accelerate children's learning in sub-Saharan Africa. The program focuses on researching and testing the most impactful solutions and applying them to increase the effectiveness of the educational programmes in the region.

Private sector faces a global challenge

The five-year long Every Child Learning Initiative is carried out in cooperation between UNICEF's Research Centre Innocenti and UNICEF's country offices. The project started in 2025, and is supported by a Nordic collective of companies, foundations and individuals who want to be involved in solving the global challenges of education. We are now looking for partners for the next phases of the project through Nordic cooperation.

The learning crisis requires effective and scalable solutions

Education is in crisis worldwide. While more children are attending school, a significant portion fails to acquire fundamental literacy and numeracy skills. The situation is particularly challenging in sub-Saharan Africa.

The global learning crisis has significant, long-term negative effects not only for individual children but also for the future of entire societies. Investing in education can help reduce poverty and inequality while fostering economic growth.

Systemic changes are needed to resolve the situation.
